December 18, 2012

These days, workforce management software offers call centers actionable intelligence in preparing staff levels on a daily basis. Generally, workforce management suites are used in place of spreadsheet style scheduling and can offer a more detailed and comprehensive look at your staffing expectations for any given day.

Evolv, a provider of SaaS (News - Alert)-based workforce profitability solutions, has been collaborating with the Center for Human Resources at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the academic contributor of research concerning domestic and international human resources. Together, these organizations are pursuing new research in workforce intelligence and the impact on workforce productivity.

Evolv utilizes the power of big data analytics and machine learning to correct the inefficiencies in the performance of global workforces. “Working with Wharton will allow unprecedented collaboration among leaders of the most rigorous research in human resources and workforce intelligence,” said Evolv CEO Max Simkoff, in a statement. “What’s particularly exciting about our collective data-driven approach is the opportunity to validate, and when necessary debunk current practices using real-world experience aggregated in Big Data.”

Evolv and Wharton will explore the effects of management structures, employment practices and employee relationships on workforce profitability and performance. Through analysis of data across a many industries, job types and regions, they will find discover new insights into workforce management.

“The Wharton School wanted to work with Evolv because massive-scale data mining and analysis supports discovery of new relationships that are not generally expected by hiring experts,” said Director of Wharton’s Center for Human Resources, Peter Cappelli.
